BD115 - Summary

The 18mm Birch Marine Plywood BishopSound BD115 is a 2-way, 15-inch full-range, trapezoidal loudspeaker with an extended frequency range.

Designed for portable PA applications including Point Source, Front of House, side and drum filling as well as sound reinforcement. The low distortion waveguide provides optimal 120° H x 60° dispersion for optimal audio performance. The result is exceptional British audio quality.

The high excursion British Designed Cast alloy BDP15FR 15" LF Driver includes a low mass voice coil for improved transient response and punches in the low-end. The BishopSound titanium dome BRC175 44.4mm compression driver delivers extended high-frequency reproduction.

Combined together, the two drivers produce an extended frequency range (40 Hz, 20 kHz -10 dB) capturing every note and tone of the original recording just as it was intended. The drivers are matched using an internal passive crossover network in a reflex-loaded enclosure for optimal audio performance.

CONSTRUCTION & CONNECTIVITY

The BD115 Loudspeaker encases the LF and HF drivers in the hard-wearing painted (with 4 coats textured, tough durable acrylic polymer paint) 18mm Plywood enclosure. The front of the loudspeaker is fitted with a 5mm thick powder coated perforated steel mesh grille, backed with reticulated foam to protect all the internal components from dust or moisture ingression.

The robust design and construction ensure that the BishopSound BD115 Loudspeaker can withstand with rigours of extended live use.

Two Neutrik speakON NL4 connectors are fitted on the rear, one in and one out for linking to ensure reliability and long-life operation and can be used for link connection to additional enclosures.

The pole mount is designed for easy mounting with 35mm poles/speaker stands, combined with the wide dispersion to deliver exceptional audience coverage. The design makes it ideal for FOH, side fill and monitoring applications.

100% 18mm 13 ply Birch Marine Plywood - 1000w RMS! Each passive cabinet delivers 1000w RMS (4000w Peak) at 8 Ohm and goes down to 37 Hz - with a max SPL of 134dB. We make the cast alloy 1kw driver so we control the performance of this subwoofer to perfection!

The Delta 18″ Subwoofer we believe provides the tightest and most defined bass frequency response available in the UK today. We make the box and the driver and the driver is the BDP18, probably the most reliable 18" cast alloy driver in the UK today with over 5000 pieces sold and only 6 have come back for a re-cone.

The cabinet is finished in 4 coats of Heavy Duty black splatter PU paint it will withstand all the knocks and scrapes gathered through touring. The box has been tuned to perfection after 30 years of manufacture and it sounds as punchy and stomach punchy today as it ever did! No crossover is fitted in the box as all users should use a speaker management processor.

Important information about subwoofers

Subwoofers are designed to reproduce low bass audio signals between 30Hz and 150Hz. Driving them with full frequencies will cause permanent damage, so they should only be operated with a passive low-pass filter, a crossover network, or an active electronic crossover or speaker management system.
